My schedule is crazy! I wake up most mornings at 4 am! I try not to eat out more than once a week. Yes, I don’t have any kids but I do feel like I have discovered some tricks that help me stay consistent with my workouts and my eating even when the schedule gets crazy. My favorite tools include my google calendar for planning in workouts, my meal planning app called PepperPlate, and my AnyDo app for making lists. Take a minute to learn why and I promise they will save you hours, headaches, and guilt from missed workouts or unhealthy meals.
The most wonderful tool ever! Every Sunday I plug in my workouts for the week. I have created my workouts as repeating events. This way all I have to do is drag them into the times slot that works for that week. This is my real Workout Calendar below. It is the green boxes. I embedded it into this post. You can see that I plan for three strength workouts, and at least three cardio workouts each week. The other awesome aspect is sharing. I share this calendar with another trainer so that we can see if we can workout together a couple times each week. Below the calendar is a video tutorial if you need help creating yours. Worth the set up time!
Oh my Pepper plate is so fabulous! I use it make grocery lists, plan the weekly meals, save recipes and I also share it with Gerry so that if he needs something all he has to do is add it to the list and it is updated in real time. The great thing is that you can make your list on your computer. Then it automatically syncs with your phone app so that your list is there when you go to the store! You have to try out this app! AnyDo is an app that helps you organize your to-do lists. You can add things to your list and then set dates for when you want them to be due. It is really helpful. You can set a reminder for next Wednesday to bring dish to pass for a party or reminder to get paperwork at 5pm when you get home. This app is a lifesaver for me. It has a column for everything that needs to be done that day and then another column for tomorrow and one for upcoming past that. Just like pepperplate it is on my computer and my phone. So no matter where I add a thing to do it is synced up and on both lists. I really recommend trying this app out if you have mounds to do on your list. Get the app here!
