I’m on Day 8 of The Whole 30. I ate eggs everyday for breakfast last week and I couldn’t take it anymore. I usually alternate between eggs or my Oatmeal Chia bowl for breakfast but on The Whole 30 I am not eating oats and store bought almond milk has a few things that are not Whole 30 compliant. So I broke down and made my own. It was so much better than store bought! Much creamier and better taste.
It was so easy.
1 Cup Raw Almonds
2-3 dates or figs
Water to soak
4 cups Cold water
Soak the Almonds for at least 12 hours and up to 48 hours.
Then blend for about 3-4 minutes in a powerful blender. Make sure there is room for the liquid to expand as you blend.
Run the whole thing through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
That’s it. You’ve got delicious, creamy, homemade almond milk.
